About Bill Holkham – Watercolor Artist & Instructor

Bill Holkham — Watercolor Artist
Artist · Instructor · Storyteller

Hey there,
I’m Bill Holkham.

I’ve spent 40+ years painting the world around me — golf courses at golden hour, snow-capped ski slopes, wild Florida rivers, and ancient castles in the rain. Now I teach others to do the same.

“You don’t need talent to start. You just need the right teacher, the right brush, and the courage to put paint on paper. The rest follows.

🎨

Painting is for everyone

You don’t need an art degree or expensive supplies to create something beautiful. I built everything I teach around that belief.

🌊

Slow down, look closer

Watercolor teaches you to observe — the light on water, the way a cloud shifts. That’s not just painting, that’s a way of living.

Every painting tells a story

I paint places that move me: the 9th green at Turnberry, the rivers of Florida, the streets of St Augustine. Art should take you somewhere.

My Story

From UK Art Markets
to the World

I started selling my paintings at outdoor art fairs in England — setting up a stall, talking to strangers about watercolor, selling originals one by one. Those years taught me everything about what people actually connect with in a painting.

Over four decades I’ve painted my way through the UK, Europe, and across America. I’ve had work commissioned by The World Bank and hung in corporate boardrooms around the world. I’ve been accepted into juried shows at the Chelsea Arts Society in London and the Guild of Aviation Artists. And I’ve sold to collectors in 56 countries.

Now based in Tallahassee, Florida, I run Let’s Paint Watercolors — an art brand built around one simple idea: great teaching unlocks the artist in anyone.
